locales

In Solaris 10 you had to edit the /etc/default/init file to chance the default locale, now with Solaris 11 it is defined in SMF:

root@psvsparc1:~# locale
LANG=de_DE.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=
root@psvsparc1:~# svccfg -s svc:/system/environment:init \
> setprop environment/LANG = astring: C
root@psvsparc1:~# svcadm refresh svc:/system/environment
root@psvsparc1:~# init 6
root@psvsparc1:~#
